The iconic Canadian comedian, actor, and singer, Jim Carrey, is preparing one of the most controversial roles of his artistic career so far and will play Joe Biden.

Jim Carrey will  play the Democratic candidate for the US presidency, Joe Biden, as announced by NBC for the new season of the program ” Saturday Night Live .”

It is worth mentioning that Carrey has appeared on the show before, however, he will now be joining the cast permanently.

Previously, the former US Vice President has been portrayed on the show by other actors such as Jason Sudeikis, Woody Harrelson, and John Mulaney.

While the current president of the United States will continue to be played by Alec Baldwin, who has played this character since 2016 in the famous show.

Well now the humor space, which has been broadcast since 1975, will return to the screens on October 3 with its 46th season.

NBC announced that it will air five episodes of “Saturday Night Live” during the month of October, the first live since the pandemic forced the show to close its previous season by recording remotely.

Now the chain hopes that there will be a limited number of audiences in the study of these new episodes, for which it will work in coordination with the authorities of New York, where space is produced.

Carrey was undoubtedly one of the most popular comedians in Hollywood in the 1990s thanks to films such as “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” and “Dumb and Dumber” of 1994, in which he displayed an exaggerated style marked by the wild gestures and jokes.

James Eugene Carrey Oram is known for his humorous slapstick performances and has won two Golden Globe Awards and was nominated for a BAFTA Award for his work.
